MusicSonu Nigam composes title track for 'Singh Saheb...'
Singer Sonu Nigam has composed the title song for Anil Sharma's upcoming movie "Singh Saheb The Great". "It was Anil Sharma's idea that Sonu should compose a song for the film. Both have known each other for a long time. Once Sonu composed the song, it was taken to Sunny Deol for him to hear and he instantly liked it and included it in the film," said a source. The number is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, with lyrics by Kumar. The movie stars Sunny Deol, Amrita Rao, Prakash Raj and Urvashi Rautela.
Sonu Nigam's mother dead, cremated
Singer Sonu Nigam's mother Shobha Nigam is no more. Her last rights were performed here Friday morning. The 63-year-old passed away Thursday afternoon at 1:40 p.m at her Andheri home. The last rites were performed at the Vile Parle crematorium at 9.30 a.m. Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who was present at the cremation, tweeted: "Dear friend Sonu Nigam's mother passed away after battling with cancer. May her soul rest peace! Take care of yourself Sonu." Other Bollywood celebrities inluding Sajid-Wajid, Talat Aziz, Jatin Pandit and Bhushan Kumar were present at the cermomy.
G.V. Prakash to compose anthem for Hyderabad Sunrisers
Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has been roped in to compose the anthem for Sunrisers Hyderabad for the next season of Indian Premiere League (IPL). "Signed up to do the anthem for Sunrisers for IPL", tweeted Prakash. Sunrisers Hyderabad, which replaced Deccan Chargers, is the new team to be included in the IPL franchise. Kumar Sangakkara is the skipper of the team, which has Tom Moody, former Australian cricketer as its coach along with mentors K. Srikkanth and V.V.S Laxman.
Daler Mehndi sings Telugu number again
Bhangra king Daler Mehndi has recorded a new Telugu song for NTR Junior-starrer "Baadshah". Mehndi made his Telugu debut with "Rubber gaajulu" for the 2007 film "Yamadonga". He also delivered another Telugu song, the hit title track of Rajinikanth's "Kuselan". Mehndi, who has been occupied with his latest project "Mission Love", agreed to record the Telugu number despite his busy schedule. He flew to Hyderabad especially to croon the track and was greeted with overwhelming response by the film director Srinu Vaitla, said a source.
Siddharth Basrur wants to work with Amit Trivedi
After struggling a lot and finding a foothold in filmdom, singer-composer Siddharth Basrur, who composed songs for films like "Haunted 3D" and "David", is keen to jam with Amit Trivedi. "I am a huge fan of Amit Trivedi and Vishal-Shekhar. I hope something works out with Amit Trivedi. I really want to work with him," he told IANS. Talking about Vishal he said: "I have met Vishal too, he is an awesome person. I have shared the stage with him and I want to work with him again. I admire Karsh Kale too."
