MusicAsha, Sudesh record retro style song for Makrand's film
Singers Asha Bhosle and Sudesh Bhosle gave voice to a song titled "Hum neend ka business karte hain" for forthcoming movie "Sona Spa". They have sung it in a retro style. Written and directed by Makrand Deshpande, "Sona Spa", based on a Hindi play, focuses on lack of sleep due to various reasons that altogether cause unhealthy and tiring life. Composed by Shamir Tandon, it is a promotional song for the movie.
Alobo Naga & the Band regales crowd at Jamia
Alobo Naga & The Band (ANB) from Nagaland regaled the crowd at a cultural event held at the Jamia Millia Islamia here. Their lyrics are mostly based on youth, society and love. The event, organised by the Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, saw huge participation from university students, as well as general youngsters.
Mallika Sarabhai to dance for women's justice
Renowned dancer Mallika Sarabhai will perform a theme dance as part of International Women's Day celebrations here. The renowned dancer and social activist is in the city to perform a specially-choreographed theme dance, "Women with Broken Wings" as part of International Women's Day celebrations Friday organized under the aegis of the Department for Social Justice, Kerala. Singer Shibani Kashyap, who recently tied the knot with Mumbai based actor Rajiv Roda, says he has been very lucky for her. "It (life) has become more beautiful. I have to say this, I think marriage is highly recommended, especially when you find the right guy who you really love and who is your best friend and companion. And my life is complete now. In fact, my husband has been very, very lucky for me," Shibani told reporteres Tuesday at the unveiling of Amy Billimoria's new Indian wear collection.
Norah Jones leaves capital mesmerized with performance
Singer Norah Jones left fans spellbound with her soulful voice as she performed for the first time in the capital Tuesday. The show was opened by singer M.Ward, who played for almost an hour, before making way for Jones. Jones, 33 was greeted by a huge roar from fans as she appeared on the stage. Dressed in a black and white printed short dress, the singer said she was "excited to perform here".
