Anjana Sukhani in 'Kamal Dhamaal Malamaal' item song
Actress Anjana Sukhani, last seen in the 2010 movie "Allah Ke Banday", will join the bandwagon of Bollywood beauties grooving to item numbers. She will shake a leg for a song in Priyadarshan's "Kamal Dhamaal Malamaal". "I am doing an item number in 'Kamal Dhamaal Malamaal'. (But) We have not yet shot the item number," Anjana told IANS. "The song is a blend of Indo-western theme. It should be shot by next week and it will be choreographed by Pony Verma," she added.
Eros joins hands with Shilpa for 'Dishkiyaaoon'
Eros International Media Ltd. has teamed up with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's Essential Sports & Media Pvt. Ltd. (ESMPL) as co-producers of gangster film "Dishkiyaaoon". The movie is the first offering from Shilpa's production company. "We are very excited about our very first production. This is a splendid script that will reach out to the large mainstream audience and it's our pleasure to be associated with Eros and its global distribution network," Shilpa said in a statement.
Bollywood finally sets stage for theatre veterans
For long they've played second fiddle to mainstream actors in films despite a strong theatre background. But the tables have turned for veterans like Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Irrfan and Om Puri who graduated from stage to screen and are bagging prominent roles in Bollywood. The change is more than welcome, says Anupam, who recently played the key role of a blind man in Pramod Joshi's "Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein".
Benegal, Madhuri bag Raj Kapoor awards
Bollywood veterans, director Shyam Benegal and actress Madhuri Dixit will receive this year's Raj Kapoor awards constituted by the Maharashtra government, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan announced here. While Benegal shall be conferred the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award-2012, Dixit will be honoured with the Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award-2012, Chavan informed the state legislature Friday.
Weather woes for Arjun, Gauahar's 'Chokra'
While they were shooting a song titled "Chokra" for the film "Ishaqzaade", the temperature in Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh dipped drastically, giving Arjun Kapoor and Gauahar Khan a hard time. But the actors managed the shoot. Boney Kapoor's son Arjun, who is making his debut, was to wear a wet vest and Gauahar had to wear a tiny blouse for the song. While everybody was worried as to whether they would be able to pull off the act, they completed the shoot on time and received a standing ovation from the unit, said a source.
