Crowd has scant respect for the departed: Big B

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is unhappy with the way crowd behaved during Rajesh Khanna's funeral procession.
Tweeting his anger, Big B wrote: "The funeral of Rajesh Khanna was poignant and crowded... the crowds were in throngs, with scant respect for the situation... pity !!"
While one would expect the crowd to comprise of fans of Rajesh Khanna who had come to pay last respects to the late superstar, Big B thinks otherwise.
"For the crowds it is always a moment of an event to see so many stars assemble... not one of respect to him that passed away," tweeted Amitabh.
Rajesh Khanna, fondly called Kaka by his family and friends, passed away Wednesday morning following a liver infection. He was 69.
The Bollywood's first superstar was laid to rest at the Vile Parle crematorium Thursday. His grandson Aarav lit the pyre.

CROWD CAME TO SEE THE GREAT RAJESH KHANNA, NOT U LAMBOO. U R AN INFERIOR ACTOR TO RAJESH KHANNA, THE KING OF BOLLYWOOD.
Wow... That's low Mr Bachchan.. Not everyone does things with the level of silly secrecy that you and your family display... The Khanna family actually recognized that he was the people's megastar and made a glass casket so they could get one last look at their beloved star..
The crowds were not there for you for a change. Grow up.
amitabh have some shame... i mean camon the crowd came for Rajeash khanna or not but this is not the time for you to complain... big b doesnt complain when people come to see him... he jst wants to pass the message that people came to see him... i may be wrong..
This guy always wants publicity!! I loved Rajesh Khanna more then him and even I would gather to see my star going away. Who the hell does Amitabh think he is to write that, he is so publicity hungry
Amitabh is jealous of Rajesh Khanna..he cant bear the fact that that Rajesh is still loved by people...why is Big B is hungry for publicity!

he was a superstar...and ppl loved him more than u.. so get it pppl were there to get a last sight of their beloved staar.. and the glass casket was for that purpose only...
Big B can't be the star everytym.. just bcos you had to wwalk for mins bcos the crowd makes you rant so much.. learn sum humbleness from ur son

As someone already stateed here, he has allways been super jealous of Rajesh Khanna.. he is the one who persuaded Salim Javed, to abandon Rajesh Khanna, who gave them their FIRST break, its such a shame!
I lost all my respect on Salim Javed as well..

ya as if he has respect for anyone in public passing away. Stars did their work,had their moment, earned loads of money and passed away. Do we have to still keep on thinking about them??
People come and go nobody cares!! What has he done for the public. I would pay respect for someone like susmita sen who adopted girl babies or actors who have done some contribution to society!!
I don't agree with his second statement, that people were there to see the stars ensemble, instead of paying respect for rajesh khanna, if that would've been the case, then they would've also been there on dara singhs funeral.Even in death, Amitabh can't admit that Rajesh khanna is still loved by his fans .It happened first time that amitabh and his son had to walk till the crematorium , because there was a huge crowd.

I agree kitty, I only click on those pics to pay condolences, it bothers me to even click on a post about a funeral yet you see some talking about the fashions and the cars, who is smiling and who is not etc. :-(
On the flip side, I find the starlets and bimbettes making an appearance for such events. They prolly select their outfits, do their hair, and such. Tweeters such as Clist Shilpa Kundra try to tie their names to dead people knowing that trending news will pick their tweets up. Shame!

Amitabh is a superstar too with not so exceptional acting skills... he is what he is today because of the same crowd and tacky star worshippers.. calling "fans" crowd is equally disrespectful.. have some respect Big B..
I am unhappy about the Megaintruder's non stop comments. How much publicity does he want??????
His observation extends not only to the physical crowd, but the online crowd. I cringe every time I see the stalkerazzi photos of celebs / mourners at a funeral, not to mention the readers' comments about their clothes, hair, car, whether this one looks too happy, or that one looks appropriately sad, etc. Super tacky, IMO.
I blame the media and tacky star worshippers.
But to avoid the crowd they really shouldn't have transported the body in a glass box. That was so ridiculous and disrespectful. Nobody would have stood to watch a random ambulance whizzing through the traffic.
Amitabh took out Abhishek's baarat in a crowded Mumbai street putting a lot of pressure on local authorities to handle the situation. It also added to th plight of daily commuters s the roas were blocked and huge number of spectetor thronged on road to catch glips of stars.
Rajesh Khanna's family took his final procession atop truck so that people can take a last glimps of their beloved star.
I don't get why this grump old grandpa is complaining. May be he is suggesting that people tronged roads to see him come out of Ashirwad and not Rajesh Khanna?
These are the same mobs crowding around Tom Cruise and Oprah when they visited India, even though they had no idea who they were. It is disrespectful, they didn't care about Rajesh Khanna, they were just there to see the tamasha.
