If you know Bollywood then you know what I mean.

Think of it in these terms...
if Tabu and Aamir are the actor equivalents of directors Anurag Basu and Anurag Kashyap
and Rani and Vidya are the actor equivalents of directors Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta
then KJO is the director equivalent of Katrina Kaif.

    --------------Best comment.
And Barfii's credit goes to Anurag for thinking this and Ranbir to execute his vision perfectly and he is the soul of this film. Illeana was graceful and pc's act like retard, a little over acting.

"Priyanka Chopra is just brilliant as Jhilmil. Superbly nuanced and pitch perfect.

    ------------------

That's what I was saying...Priyanka was able to give a pitch perfect performance only because she ranbir as her co-star, he was well balance and all she had to do was follow after him. Ranbir made her job easier. Basically Ranbir took controll of BARFI and he was the soul of the film, just like Kate Winslet took control of TITANIC and she owned the film.
Karan it's not right for you to feel talentless, you have made great films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai etc. KKHH was the best Movie I had ever seen till that point, then you made Kal Ho Naa Ho. Cheer up Karan!

Well thats nice of him, Kjo's always appreciative of other people's work (especially when they are in his inner circle); you can tell he really loves the movies. I feel like he has great business/marketing acumen but doesn't necessarily have the best directorial visionl; I always like the movies produced by him better than the movies directed by him.

True. On one hand anurag basu gives us Barfi and on the other hand kjo gives us SOTY

So thankfully the new barometer will exclude ostentatious mansions, skimpily clad damsels, overly groomed metro heroes, double flights of staircases, lavish shots of helicopters, private planes, extended families, loud punjabi music gyrations, over the top drama??? Say it is so, KJO!

just saw Barfi in sydney in a pack theater. I took a Chinese frend of mine to see her first ever BW movie. And we both are floored by Ranbir's performance. I chines frend has a huge crush on him and kept asking me abt him. Wow such is the magic of RK. PC is a refined actress better than SRK in MNK, Ilena is like breath of fresh air. Her eyes are wow.

Just saw the movie a while ago, it was good loved it! Brilliant acting, like some said Ileana is a breath of fresh air. She's so pretty and talented, hopefully she'll make it big in Bollywood. Best debut for 2012, but Yami Gautam also good. Haven't seen Cocktail so can't comment on Diana Penty.

    the whole movie was brilliant.

Each actor did their respective parts amazingly. I am amazed and in awe of specially PC and Ranbir. Ranbir was the soul of the film though. amazing.

Anybody else noticed how the best films this year have come from Bengali filmmakers? Sujoy Ghosh(Kahaani),Dibakar Banerjee(Shanghai),Soorjit Sircar(Vicky Donor) & now Anurag Basu with Barfi. No wonder KJO feels small before them. Bongs are on a roll baby.

watched the movie today and i must say , though ranbir and priyanka have acted well, the most credit has to go to the director and script writer. all the nuances in the storyline were beautifully portrayed. i usually go in to watch a bollywood movie expecting to hate it. must say i liked this quite a bit. as for karan's movies, he isn't even in the same league with his love stories in foreign locale with pretty people in designer clothes crapfests.

PC & Ranbir..definetly the bestt.. I would say Ranbir is the only talented actor in kapoor khaandhaan after Raj & Rishi..the rest i dont find that talented.even Kareena is not that great..I find she is always into overacting.

Just saw the movie last night and Ranbir's performance was out of this world. We are so lucky to have such an amazing actor in Bollywood....he is the best. This movie makes you cry, laugh and happy at the same time. Illena was really great and she looks so fresh and great with Ranbir. Love them both! Kudos to you!
