Karan, Adi are 'lallu': SRK

Shah Rukh Khan says he had approached his friends Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra to direct his mega-budget "RA.One" but they chickened out.
"I went to all directors to make this film ('RA.One') and even my own friends like Karan or Aditya. They all are 'lallu' (idiots) I say. I wanted to do something more than a romantic comedy," Shah Rukh told his friend, actress Preity Zinta on UTV Stars' "Up Close and Personal with PZ".
The 45-year-old, who plays a superhero in the film which is releasing Oct 26, is hoping for positive things for the project. It is directed by Anubhav Sinha.
"I have been informed that I am officially broke and 'RA.One' has turned out to be one of the most expensive films. If this film does well, it will go down the history and will be remembered. I am glad I have bought something to India which has never been seen before... I am very inspired by 'Krish' and 'Drona'," he said.
"RA.One" also features Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, with a cameo by superstar Rajinikanth and a special voiceover by Amitabh Bachchan.

it just shows they are close and comfortable with each other to joke like this. no harm meant.
Never has been SRK so much anxious and at the same time insecure for his film ra.one. We have seen many such expensive films going flop in the past. This risk is pretty evident on his face and mood.
You have to watch the Episode yourself to get the right point of view.
As always media creates controversies.

Well, except his Asoka both OSO and Swades was very very hit..he acted amazingly in both of these movies and also won an award. I think he is just a lil bit annoyed with his friends but he should not call them lallu in public! or maybe he said this jokingly (as they are his best buddies)....I need to see the video to understand his expression..since he jokes all the time...I hope that his friends does not mind!
i am getting sick of that one photo of aditya chopra.
hope srk's ra one does extremely well.
i take it this is an interview of srk, the guy who is worth $300+mill is saying he is 'officially' broke. riiiiiiiiight, anything to promote another knockoff.

@Tue, 2011-10-11 13:13 — Anonymous..i agree with you and he needs to understand that it was not aditya or karan but the audience who wants to see him in romantic roles...SRK always wanted to do something different thats why in his home productions like asoka,Om shanti om and now Ra.1 he try to play a different character other than just playing a regular romantic role,and if he doesn't play a romantic role his performance go waste no matter how well he acts the way he did in asoka and sawades...he should say his fans & audience are "lallu".
Was he also lallu for doing romantic films all these years till MNIK and now Ra 1? Sorry to say it is not right to talk like this about the very people who made him what he is. Even if you call it a joke, it's a lame and tasteless one!
