Is Gauri doing the right thing?Mon, 2012-04-02 20:59 — ShakuntelaEveryone seems to know about the rumor of the 'dirty affair' between Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. However, no one can say whether all these rumours are based on facts. A very interesting thing happened in Bollywood recently. Priyanka Chopra is ignored by certain Bollywood figures. What making's this interesting is the fact that these figures are closely related to Gauri Khan. We often see Gauri as the suffering star wife, but it looks like she isn't as suffering and innocent as we thought. Gauri has every right to be angry and there is nothing wrong with that. Many of us know about the friendship between Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan. They just recently became partners in an interior and furnishings business. Apparently Gauri has told the other star wives (this includes director-producer Karan Johar) about her crises during the making of Don 2. Several entertainment websites reported that Hrithik Roshan confirmed that he does not plan to work with Priyanka Chopra after Krissh 2. So Gauri is telling others to stop their husbands from working with Priyanka? Will ruining Priyanka's career safe Gauri from a cheating husband? Is she doing the right thing and how come SRK is not getting any blame? Or is this normal in the male dominant Bollywood industry? It seems like Gauri is only attacking PC and wants to save her marriage desperately. I'm not saying she's doing the wrong thing, but isn't it unfair when PC is singled out by the industry while SRK is still on cloud 5694?

Better, both Shahrukh and Gauri divorce. What is the point living like this? Shahrukh is for PC. If Shahrukh loves PC, then he should just get married. Gauri does not need to worry...she can get 50% of the entire wealth of Shahrukh. I guess, she should be happy.

Gauri shouldn't ask other women's husband to stop working with her. That's just wrong and two wrongs do not make a right.
Even if there is no affair going on but all the writing and newsflash will upset anyone. I understand Gauri being upset about that. If my husband (who is not involved in an affair) is being constantly linked up with his co-star, I would ask him to stop working with her, at least for the time being so there is peace and less nonsense talk. I understand Gauri's anger and frustration but I don't think she should have (if she did, which it seems like), asked others (star-wives, directors, producers) to stop working with PC. That is boyond professionalism. As long as PC does her work right, Gauri shouldn't ask other women's husband to stop working with her. That's just wrong and two wrongs do not make a right.

The problem is, wethinks, it is this easy, fun, flirty feeling between SRK and PC that has added some credence to the whole “affair” story. You can’t say the same about the other women in SRK’s professional life: Farah’s always been like a sister to him, Kajol is more like a buddy and was dating Ajay when they worked together and Deepika was supposed to have a soft spot for Ranbir Kapoor when she were shooting for Om Shanti Om. In the past, Juhi was one lady to be linked with SRK, but over the years their growing family ties have proved there was no truth to the rumours.

I agree with the writer. Even the pic of Shahrukh and Priyanka that were posted, it does not looked like they were having affair. I think Priyanka is being singled out.

If cheating is that good of a deal and blessed by the God then why not come out and be upfront and tell the world the whole truth. Every cheater knows it's a shameful thing thus sneaking in and out from one hotel room to another.. I like how Gauri and her faithful friends handle this situation, you can't see your hard built nest to burn down by some hoochie ma and pretend as if nothing happened. SRK is a cheater, and his mistress PRIYANKA is the home breaker.. they should openly accept that and leave Gauri and her kids alone instead.. Period!

@Star wives need to learn that their husbands are filmstars and they WILL have to spend lots of time with their leading ladies and develop close friendships with some. Didn't they already know this when they decided to marry? By "forbidding" their husbands to work with anyone, they are putting cracks in their own marriage. No man will like that. Love does not mean tying someone. If they don't trust their men, they should not have married them in the first place. They need to work on their relationships directly rather than targetting women who are in their husband's lives. It's good star wives have their businesses to focus on. The men can take care of themselves. They have brains and their own hearts to make choices in their lives. Let the men be.

I think SRK's silence on all of this is really wrong. He's basically thrown Priyanka under the bus. He was the one who was overly affectionate with Priyanka all along (like from the beginning of her career), but especially during Don 2 promotions, and being an adoring fan since 9 years of age, of course Priyanka would be a giggly mess around him. I don't even think anything untoward ever happened between them (I suppose it's possible that the two had an "emotional affair" which is actually really really common but also really really hurtful to the other spouse...that would be unfortunate, but still not completely Priyanka's fault, in my opinion), but I do think that SRK's public displays of affection sent the wrong message. Now, when people are suspecting an affair and blaming Priyanka, SRK has decided go silent. Really unfair. I hope he speaks up for her. If Gauri has a vendetta against Priyanka, it is the result of misplaced anger, in my opinion...she really should focus her attention on her husband.

what should gauri do when after hearing about the speculated affair she got annoyed and very naturally started hating priyanka for ruining her otherwise fancied married life. she stopped being friends with everyone who are/were friends with priyanka. there is no denying the fact that priyanka may be a star but it is gauri who is far more powerful then priyanka in bollywood as she has materialized this status through working behond the camera and as a home maker too. those are facts about both priyanka and gauri. people who would want to be friends with gauri would naturally cut their terms with priyanka otherwise it would hurt gauri's feeling. she is human for heaven's sake and has all the right to react to maintain her self respect. she didnt say anything out and loud in the media. it is the media who has been giving all the news about priyanka and gauri. i say gauri is has maintained a dignified stance and she needs to be given that respect she rightly deserves. if not, girls who are hungry for fame, power and money will try to pass through this short cut called wrecking married women's lives for their own good.

PC has always been a big flirt.. First with AKshay, then Harman, Shahid, Ranbir and SRK now..SRK is known to be more friendly with his female costars than the male costars.. I am not a big fan or a supporter of srk but the fact is he was never ever linked to any of his leading ladies in this manner..Take for instance Juhi Chawla..No actor in this industry is known to involve with his friend-cum-leading lady in business ventures like IPL or movie productions..And when he does that we all know that they are the best of friends and there is nothing more to it and more importantly his wife never complained..
