In these pictures she looks like your average pretty girl next door. She looks a lot better on screen but I guess that's the case with everyone. She was a pretty face but she made it cos she's got the brains & the know-how. Lots of pretty girls out there don't get noticed cos they probably don't know how to handle this industry. Ash's fame is due to MUCH more than just her looks.

if you agree dark skin is nicer then why you are getting mad that South Indians are dark? how is it bullshit? You should be happy that South Indians are being called dark, which you like. As far as the comment that there are some light South Indians and dark North Indians yes that is very true, but for the majority South Indians are darker, I have South Indian friends who agree to that they arent in denial.

I'm sure there are some extremely fair skinned tulu women but my point was Aish is not naturally fair nor as fair as other such as Kareena, Karisma. I don't mean to stereotype but the MAJORITY of South Indians are usually darker then North Indians. Take a random sample. I don't want to get into the North/South debate here but I work at a company where there are hundreds maybe thousands of South Indians and I would say 90% of them are not extremely fair, note I didn't say just say fair...there are also numerous studies that show that South Indians have a darker pigment, which is usually the case for regions closest to the equator. Anyway, my point was shes not as naturally super fair as some people were posting below and does wear foundation that is lighter than her natural complexion.

And Anon below...Indians really need to get over this bullshit of South Indians are dark and North Indians are light...I know many dark North Indians and very light South Indians...this point is a separate one...I personally think darker skin looks nicer...and Indians need to get with the program on this issue...

i am a south india extremely fair with green eyes. many tulu speaking women have lighter skin and blue or green eyes. we indians are too busy with sterptypes that we make assumptions without knowing details.

The extremely fair ones are kareena, karisma and suzanne, not that this is a good thing. Kareena wears darker makeup all the time, shes so ghostly white naturally as well as suzanne but she doesnt wear darker makeup. Althought aishwarya might look a bit on the fair side here, she is definitely not naturally fair at all, even when i saw her in person.
