Mahima Chaudhary & Shabana Azmi at NGO Event
The effort by Babloo Aziz under the ageis of his NGO - BLESS MINORITIES DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (BMDF), to acknowledge academic excellence amongst the minority communities was a grand success and drew an overwhelming response from students and parents alike.
It was a packed and overflowing audience at bhaidas hall. Shabana Azmi in her address stressed the importance of education, especially for the girl child. Mahima Chaudhary was highly impressed with the fact that some of the toppers had even managed to score 100% and she was all praise for the sheer academic brilliance of the students. Shreyas Talpade observed that even actors have to be sensitized to learning and have good observation and grasping powers to study the various characters they portray on screen.
Nearly 20 Laptops, Innumerable cash prizes, 900 mementoes and certificates were distributed to meritorious students from minority communities. Shri Gurudas Kamat, Honorable Member of Parliament, fondly recollected his college days and the positive impact of education on his career and life. He further exorted all the students in the gathering to give top priority to education and knowledge. Oscar Fernandes and Jagdish Tytler also inspired the students with real life examples of noted personalities from the minority community. Also present on this occasion were MLA’s Krishna Hegde and Aslam Shaikh. Viveck Shettyy moderated and anchored the entire discussion. Aiman Jaaarouqhaan with 97% was amongst the toppers in the HSC category and Tasbia Faaroque Baig was the topper in the SSC Category with 100%.
By the end of it Babloo Aziz was a visibly delighted man as he saw the smiles on the faces of all the students. Ravi Kishan was also in great spirits. Mr. Babloo Aziz has successfully represented the Congress Party on earlier occasions and has been active in many social and political causes. He has a marked social presence and has been in the news for acts like donating of high-end speedboats to Juhu lifeguards. He has also recently been appointed the Marketing Director of the International Kurash Association (IKA). Kurash is an ancient sport which has found a place in the Olympics recently and Mr. Babloo Aziz is closely associated with it.
