hi anon Fri, 2008-11-28 07:28 - see that is the problem...I dont have curly hair...my hair is very thick n a wavy (not nice wavy..but wierdly wavy)...so I cannot define them using curling lotions unless i get my hair permed......so in short, my hair has no definite personality...i want it to be either straight or be curly...straightening seems easier...so i wanted to know the price n products..etc...

but thanx for ur comments tho...appreciate it

Try using the correct

Try using the correct product for your hair type...straightening hair may not be that great a thing...at first you will like it...but dryness, snapping and brittleness will soon follow....why not tame your hair with good moisturising curling products- I would recommend Kerastase Oleo-Curl-it's is a curl definition cream for thick, curly hair and is nutritive as well. And if you really want to straighten up your hair invest in a GHD hair straightener and use it with heat protection sprays.

aawww shez1985 n sabira...thnx for the replies gals.....i appreciate ur inputs

chemically straightening ur

chemically straightening ur hair will make it harder to for the hair to dry and sit volumised at the crown, as the smoothening out done by the treatment, will cause the volume to fall back down.. i am talking from experience and would not advise it, better to invest i a good hairdryer, powerful and master the art of blowdrying!! :)

the more u stress about it

the more u stress about it the longer you will put it off..if u have hte money then go for it..even in the US wherever u live there will be alot of asian places that do it...my frend [in canada] got it done form some indian lady and it still turned out relaly awsome..no hairloss..no damage....so just walk into any salon that doesn't look trashy or cheap adn ask them about it...as long as looks professoinal..they will do a professional job..oh and i have quite a chubby face too...u shud try side sweeping bangs..they take off 5 pounds off my face haha
