guess we should all be looking in the mirror at this point, rather than pointing fingers.. lessons learning for all of us. fyi: Indian-origin American citizens, the Indian people (who are going through hell and back to keep peace there in India), offer us some stern advice:
NYC Desi community -> AmbarB , about Joel Stien's Indian immigration article:
"I propose a different response using social media - we can call it "The Joel Stein Untweet campaign". On Twitter, Joel Stein is extremely popular; he has over 1 million followers who get his 140 character message whenever he posts. This is a very large number by all accounts; he outreaches many other well known celebrities, including The Gates Foundation, Dr. Phil, and the FCC (and for additional context, the top person on Twitter, Britney Spears, has ~5 million followers). Having this many folks follow you is a testament to a person's influence on culture, our points of view, and ability to call for change.
What I propose is to call for people to "unfollow" Joel Stein on Twitter, taking away some of his influence. If we can orchestrate a campaign that simply retweets the phrase "I support @thejoelstein RT campaign. His comments were disparaging, and I will unfollow him on Twitter. Please RT. http://bit.ly/ajjRDb" Perhaps this will not be as effective as a petition or more visible form of action. But, as Joel Stein suggested in his apology tweet, South Asians can be non-violent. But that doesn't mean we have to be silent. (@AmbarBh) "
We urge all Indian public figures to take time and reflect that we Indians should stand united in peace.. and peacefully resist all forms of negativity directed not only at or from us, but all groups through the world. If public figures on behalf of the Indian community want to step out and speak up for this cause, it would be helpful.
Peace to all.
Happy Independence Day.

Attention Guys:
Joel Stein of Time magazine has written a scathing openly racist 'humorous' article against 'dothead' Indians (discussing his hometown Edison and the growing Indian population & his discomfort of it), which is uniting Indians all over the world to have a peaceful resistance against any form of negativity on any group.
Please take a moment to join the petition and please take a moment to write to Time magazine if you believe that all groups, including Indians, deserve positive treatment:

Attention Bollywood celebs who do read PINKVILLA.
Kal Penn has stood up for Indians against the scathing piece of 'humor anti-Indian' article by Joel Stein.
