Babita and Randhir Kapoor met on a flight to Hong Kong. She was a star - an actress - he was a ‘nobody’ - in his own words (he was an assistant). He was immediately in awe of her. And was hell bent on marrying her. The Kapoors are conventional when it comes to marriage and may not have been pleased to have an actress as a daughter-in-law. But the marriage came through and a few years later, things started to go downhill with rumors of Babita’s affair with popular screen villain, Ranjit. Soon they were separated.
