While most were surprised when Aishwarya Rai graced the famed red carpet at Monday's 83rd Annual Academy Awards, there was another Indian presence at the Oscars – and no, we are not talking about Mallika Sherawat.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's recent film, Guzaarish, which explored the life of a quadriplegic, received recognition by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. The Academy has invited the screenplay of the Aishwarya Rai – Hrithik Roshan starrer, to become a part of its permanent script collection.

Some time back, when they were on good terms, Salman Khan gifted Sanjay Leela Bhansali a DVD of Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige, which allegedly became the starting point for Guzaarish.
Which is why when the director decided to make the Aishwarya Rai starrer with Hrithik Roshan, Sallu was gravely upset.
He let this be known in loud and clear terms during a television awards ceremony on Monday evening. Sallu, who was there to felicitate physically handicapped achievers, was in a candid and rather unforgiving mood.

Guzaarish - Winning hearts worldwide!

Guzaarish - Winning hearts worldwide!

Guzaarish, one of the most talked about films of the year, might have not opened big, in terms of box office collections, despite receiving the best critical acclaim and is clearly not any blockbuster, thanks to the class appeal and a lot of the film being in English. No breakaway song and dance, no fights, no masala. Just straight to the point, it delivers much more than what it promises! My most favourite film from Bollywood in a long time and what I think is the best film of the year!
