As per boxofficeindia.com, Rowdy Rathore is the biggest hit of 2012 and the first BLOCKBUSTER film of the year. As per the article, the film is heading for nett business of around 135 crore which would make it the fourth highest grossing film of all time.

The latest to join the Amul hoardings bandwagon is the film which is breaking all records or shall we say making new records, Rowdy Rathore! With the entire nation soaking in the rowdiness how could Amul be left behind.
The hoarding features the new hit actor-director combo of Akshay Kumar and Prabhudeva with their signature Chinta tat a step which has become synonymous with the film and the caption ‘Don’t Hungry me!’

As per Box Office India , Rowdy Rathore had a "bumper" opening in single screens and good opening at the multiplexes.
