Indian actress Himani Shivpuri is a known face in the Indian Film Industry. She is a recognised actor in Bollywood as well as the television film industry. Himani Shivpuri was born on 24th October 1960 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She was educated at an all-boys boarding school where her father used to teach Hindi. It was during this time at school when she got involved in dramatics and started her career in theatre along with her studies. Later, she completed her post-graduation in Organic Chemistry. She also got enrolled in the National School of Drama (NSD) after which she briefly worked with the NSD Repertory Company and then came to Mumbai. It was during this time when she made her acting debut in Bollywood with the 1984 film Ab Ayega Mazaa followed by the TV film, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones. Over the years, she appeared in several art films including Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda and Mammo. Her first commercial break was Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Later, she made her television debut with serial Humrahi followed by several big serials including Yatra, Hasratein, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Dollar Bahu, Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah, I Luv My India, Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Sasural Simar Ka, Housewife Hai...Sab Jaanti Hai, Mr. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, Ghar Ek Sap Doli Armaano Ki, are some of them. Simultaneously, she was also working in Hindi movies such as Koyla, Pardes, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Umrao Jaan, and so on. She briefly appeared in a short documentary film The Facebook Generation. produced by Blue Strike Productions and Dev Samaj Modern School. The film competed in the Reel to Real filmmaking competition at Harmony 2012 organized by The Global Education and Leadership Foundation and was among the top 10 finalists. Talking about her personal life, she got married to a Kashmiri Pandit actor Gyan Shivpuri in 1995. However, he died in 1995. She has a son named Katyayani.
