An amalgamation of talent with a positive attitude, actor Rahul Dev in real life is a complete contrast to all the negative characters played by him on screen. Viewers got to see a glimpse of his real life personality on Bigg Boss 10.  Rahul, who is all set to play an antagonist yet again, but this time on small screen in the upcoming show Dil Bole Oberoi, in a candid tête-à-tête with Pinkvilla.com, spoke about his struggles, his love and about his role as a father and a son.

When we asked him about his rapport with the host of BB, Salman Khan, Rahul who seemed to be in complete awe of the megastar said, "Salman is an amazing man. I really hope people look beyond his controversies for the kind of person that he is. Unfortunately, people do not know that there is a nice man inside too. I really hope people see that." The actor who has bagged Anees Bazmee's Mubarakaan has no qualms about accepting the fact that it is all because of Salman. "I have just bagged a movie Mubarakaan because of Salman for which I'll be soon going to London." He further said, "I mean, I am not Salman's brother or relative but still he landed me a role in a major movie. It wasn't necessary for him to do something like this going out of the way but he did. There wasn't any reason at all. He is not only a successful actor but also a nice human being."

Rahul further stated, "I have been into the industry for such a long time and till date, I have found Sunny Deol to be extremely simple and a great man. Apart from him, I remember one more actor down south who touched me was Ajith." The actor, who won hearts with his stint on Bigg Boss 10, was said to have accepted the show only for financial reasons i.e. for funding his son's education in UK.

Ask him about this and Rahul said, "When I say that I did Bigg Boss for financial reasons that doesn't mean I am struggling for money. By God's grace, I have a lot. I mean I don't know why this kind of portrayal happened, I guess it was because of the channel. So If I am asked why did I do it then why not?! I was paid a bomb for it, why wouldn't I do it? Again, when I say when I am paid a bomb it again sounds pompous. I own properties in major cities. Educating him in England costs a bomb, so coming back to your question, that's why I took up Bigg Boss." "You know, I did not have this kind of grace when I was in Siddhant's (Rahul's son) place. But the grace that I had was, my mother and father are still with me, at the age of 90. My son lost his mother at a very young age and no wealth in this world can compensate for it in life, " shared Dev.

While talking about his equation with his parents, Rahul said, "I am a very independent man. I don't very frequently talk to my mother which isn't sign of a great son I know. But I also know I am there for her whenever she needs me. I was closest to my wife. My son was closest to her and then me. I was working 365 days for the family." He further added, "I am always there for my parents and vice versa. If they wouldn't have been there, Siddhanth wouldn't have reached where he has reached today in college. After my wife passed away, my mother shifted her base to Mumbai from Delhi and stayed with me parting from her husband for two years. Her health was collapsing which is why she decided to go back. When she left, I realized it wouldn't' have been possible for me to stay back alone and hence quit movies for four years."
