The gorgeous Hina Khan is one of the most applauded actresses of Indian Television. The actress who began her TV journey as Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, went on to try some daredevil stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi recently. The actress who had decided to quit her agyakaari bahu image and step into being bolder and more daring with KKK. In a quick yet heart to heart conversation with us, Hina spill the beans of her evolving as Akshara to Hina, her stint at KKK and more.

How excited are you for this new stint of yours?

Very very very excited since it's happening in Spain and I'm quite excited. From Bull fights to their traditional dance, their culture, a lot of contestants on KKK, a lot of new friends yes, and this time Rohit Shetty is back so I'm excited.

What do you think of Geeta Phogat who is also a participant?

Oh yes, she is tough, strong and has a lot of physical strength and she is very head strong and here, physical strength doesn't matter that much as compared to mental strength.

So are you mentally strong?

Oh Yeah, I am, I am a very focused and a very confident person in real life.(laughs) but I haven't eaten any insects or rather even dealt with them. I have seen snakes crawling on someone's body and that freaked me out.

Have you followed the previous seasons of KKK?

I did in bits and pieces not rigorously though.

Has that made you nervous?

Oh yes, very nervous, you watch and see what happens, you won't be able to sleep that night (laughs). It is so scary man but my team and Colors'team too told me and assured that all the stunts were done under complete expert supervision. They asked me to only listen and obey the instructions. I did that, I am a good student.

Well, talking about your short break before KKK and after your infamous show, fans want to know what was their Akshara doing for 5 months after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai?

There were many things that were keeping me busy other than work, like giving time to my family which I could not do in 8 years and exploring my self to what I really want and how I want to really spend a day. So I realised and explored myself. My family also was concerned for me since they thought I was clueless. They constantly asked me If I was fine since all day long I was found in the room on my bed. They thought I had become nervous or was probably in some depression post Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. They thought I was scared since I wasn't working.

So were you nervous?

No... not at all. I dealt with so much of chaos and so much of lights, camera, action, loud speakers in all these years that I was then loving to stay in my room watching Netflix and just chilling in my ME time.. so then they understood.
I had to make them understand and it took a lot of effort to explain to my family that is the kind of life I wanted right now, that space that I did not get in a long time. I started in Delhi as a student and just landed up in this industry immediately after that I never got a chance to actually be on my own and have some breathing space for myself. So now I realize that I actually love watching Netflix, I can watch Netflix for 24 hours without any break, so then without any break, if you can watch something, you are obviously going to sit at one place right. But to that sudden behaviour of mine, they took it to be my nervousness. They would ask whether I was nervous. I said that I am not, I am happy and so glad about what I am doing and then I started hitting the gym, swimming, dancing what ever I could do, what ever I couldn't do earlier.  I wanted to enroll myself in a cooking class honestly. That's one thing I don't know but I want to know. I believe one should be an all rounder. I want to be a working woman but I want to some times cook something very special for my family or probably later when I get married, then for my husband or if I am in a relationship then for my boyfriend or whatever it is. You feel nice when someone appreciates what you have cooked. I want to learn different cuisines.

You have been a part of the industry for almost a decade, what changes do you see on Television in the flow?

See on TV, honestly, there is no difference... The same shows are made everytime. Infact I should not be saying this but nowadays shows have come to a different level altogether. Earlier it only started with saas bahu and now it's landing up somewhere else only. Indian television industry has still time left to achieve what it really needs to. That's the reason why we all are glued to Netflix and all because there you get to see such content that we can't make, perform etc. On Indian Television, if you want to do TV, then you have to do what's available on TV currently. That's the bottom line.
