You know him as Arjun from Pavitra Rishta, you know him as the host, as a dancer and performer, and a reality show contestant. We are talking about Rithik Dhanjani who has been a part of versatile projects in his career span of around 7years.

The actor recently also made his digital debut with Galti Se Mistech opposite Anita Hassanandani and also won an award in the debutante category. With GSM, Rithvik returned to acting after a sabbatical of around three years.

In an exclusive chat with PINKVILLA, we asked Rithvik on what took him so long to return and what has he been looking for in a script? "You will not believe but this [Galti Se Mistech] was not something I was looking for in a script," he stated and added, "I was looking forward to doing something substantial as a script, something that people will not just relate to but also like, something which I haven't done before. That is when Galti Se Mistech popped up. Before that, I had a few scripts but I had to say no to them because, for me, it was a good break for what three or three and half years from acting and I wanted to come back with something interesting."

But if you consider Galti Se Mistech as his comeback, we would suggest not to. "I don't consider this as my comeback, something massive will come soon BUT this I would say struck the right chord at the right time."

Having won an award for the web series, Rithvik expressed, "It is a good feeling because I really wanted to do something substantial when it comes to work when I came back into acting. That is why I chose Galti Se Mistech, I was hoping that people would like what I liked in the script, and now finally receiving an award for it, it is a home run for me. It is a good and a complete feeling."

Daily soaps demand long commitments and with digital content taking over slowly, a lot of actors recently opened up on not being ready for such commitments anymore. Does Rithvik resonate the same views? Well, this is what Rithvik had to say. "Nothing like that for me. I think that whatever work we do as actors today has to have an element of evolution, change. To do the same thing every day, year after year, in a long commitment is not bad but that is something we have done already. But I feel that we are looking for something which not only become a talking point but also changes the way people perceive you and the storytelling. Be it long daily soaps or films, the bottom line is it should be exciting and new, something I haven't done before."

Speaking about the monotony in a daily soap, Rithvik added, "What happens is sometimes, we as actors, get trapped in monotony, wherein the first few months we are offered to do new things and then they just drag the series. I don't want to do that."

Does he have a dream role or project in mind? "Nothing in particular. Something that strikes the right chord and which stands out as I don't want to limit myself to a particular genre. But I have recently developed an interest to be a part of a sci-fi project because in our country we haven't touched the sci-fi zone a lot," he replied.

Well, that is about his work life, now on the personal front, we asked about a particular thing he would like to tick off this year from his bucket list. To this, the Pavitra Rishta actor said, "I have a lot of things on my bucket list when it comes to work, but that I feel is too personal to reveal, not until I achieve it, at least. I am an old school that way. But on the personal front, every year on my birthday I gift myself something but in the last three or four years, a friend of mine, Karan Grover, has inspired me to travel and explore during my birthday. On his every birthday, Karan decides a place and goes enjoys himself on that day. Every time I see him do that, I feel inspired and wish to do that too."

"So, I want to steal some time off for myself on my birthday, do things that I have never done, be in places I have never been. This is been on my bucket list for quite some time. I might start doing it this year," he concluded.
