Now, the actor is returning to cinemas with another family entertainer with ace director Anees Bazmee. The dream team is back! Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee are set to bring some year-end cheer with their massive family entertainer, backed by Dil Raju's SVC. In what is being hailed as one of the biggest announcements of the year, the producer has officially locked the release date for their upcoming collaboration with Kumar and director Bazmee.
Mark your calendars, because this yet-to-be-titled family comedy-drama is all set to hit the big screens on December 4, 2026. Making the announcement, the official X handle, SVC tweeted, “IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE - DECEMBER 4th, 2026. More updates soon!!”

Akshay and Anees have previously delivered cult classics like Welcome and Singh Is Kinng. After a 15-year hiatus since their last outing, Thank You (2011), the duo is coming back to revive that signature genre and create the uncontrolled chaos they’re experts at.
Adding to the excitement is the leading lady. According to reports, the yet-untitled project features Vidya Balan as the female lead, along with Raashii Khanna playing a pivotal role. The film also boasts a stellar supporting cast, including Vijay Raaz, Sudesh Lehri, and Rajpal Yadav.
The team recently wrapped a picturesque schedule in Kerala. Akki took to social media to drop a picture with his female co-stars and revealed that they are done with the “Keralam schedule.” He further noted, “Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya, Raashii, Chota Rajpal, and the entire crew! This one’s been special.”
With Akshay already having Welcome to the Jungle slated for June 2026 and Haiwaan making waves, the superstar already has an impressive line-up ready to roll.
