Awarapan 2 Teaser: Emraan Hashmi steals the show with hard-hitting dialogues, nostalgia hits peak

Exactly 19 years after the release of the 2007 cult classic Awarapan, Vishesh Films has officially dropped the highly anticipated teaser for its sequel, Awarapan 2. The 1-minute 45-second teaser marks the grand return of Emraan Hashmi in one of his most iconic and emotionally heavy avatars, Shivam Pandit.

Awarapan 2 promises the return of the soul-stirring cinematic experience fans have long been waiting for. Produced by Vishesh Bhatt and directed by Nitin Kakkar, the sequel aims to revive the soulful, action-laced, haunting musical legacy that defined the original masterpiece.
It follows a man drowning in grief and loss, searching for a purpose to keep going. Narrated in Emraan Hashmi's voice as Shivam himself, the teaser offers a deeply personal insight into his state of mind, making every moment linger long after it ends.
The short and intense teaser dives into the gritty, rain-soaked world of Shivam Pandit. It opens with a rugged-looking Emraan Hashmi riding a motorcycle through dark streets as his heavy voiceover reveals, “Kuch logo ki kahaniya unki marzi se khatam nahi hoti... unki kahani, dusro ke liye likhi jaati hai. (Some people’s stories don’t end with their permission… their stories are written for others.)”

Then, Shivam is seen paying tribute to a portrait of Aaliyah Hamid. As he states, "Dard se purana rishta hai mera" (I have an old relationship with pain), a brand-new rendition of the legendary track Toh Phir Aao (composed by Mithoon and with lyrics by Sayeed Qadri) plays in the background, immediately triggering nostalgia.
The teaser wraps up with Shivam’s declaration, “Iss baar yaa toh yeh awarapan khatam hoga ya main. (This time, this awarapan will end or me),” leaving fans with goosebumps, reigniting the anticipation for Shivam Pandit's long-awaited return.
Alongside Emraan Hashmi, the film boasts one of the most exciting ensemble casts of the year, starring Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, along with Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kholi, and Atul Kumar.
