Ayushmann Khurrana’s next ‘genre-bending’ film titled Mupapa, locks release date for February 19, 2027

Bollywood’s sought-after actor, who is also known as the risk-taker, Ayushmann Khurrana, is locked and loaded for his next cinematic outing. The star is set to headline a highly anticipated, ‘genre-bending’ theatrical project titled Mupapa. Read on to know when the high-stakes entertainer will hit cinemas!
Ayushmann Khurrana’s next titled Mupapa
Ayushmann Khurrana started 2026 with the comic caper, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Since then, he has been busy filming his next entertainers and booking his calendar for his upcoming projects. Among them is a high-stakes collaboration that he is doing with ace filmmakers and producers to bring Mupapa to cinemas.
The makers officially announced the project, revealing that they have locked a prime winter release date. Well, the film Mupapa is scheduled to hit the big screen worldwide on February 19, 2027.
The project marks a monumental milestone as the first joint theatrical venture between powerhouse studio Yash Raj Films and creators Posham Pa Pictures. It is produced by YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani. This is Akshaye’s second film as a producer after the Mohit Suri-directed romance Saiyaara.
While specific plot details and the cast are being kept tightly under wraps, the team promises a visual treat for Bollywood lovers. The film is helmed by acclaimed showrunner and filmmaker Sameer Saxena, the creative force behind hit streaming projects like Kaala Paani, Tripling, and Permanent Roommates. Saxena is backed by his collaborators Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna, and Amit Golani.
Mupapa is being touted as a ‘genre-bending' theatrical film designed to grip audiences from the very first frame. According to its spokesperson, the entertainer will deliver an incredibly new visual experience for people in theatres.
Ayushmann Khurrana, who has made content disruption his calling card, is helming this project that will keep the audience at the edge of their seats from the word go.
Khurrana, who was last seen navigating a chaotic comedy in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do in May 2026, is known to pick scripts that push boundaries.
With a top-tier director at the helm of it and an industrial giant backing the project, Mupapa is shaping to be one of the most intriguing theatrical releases of 2027.
