Fourteen years after Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty redefined modern romance, director Homi Adajania returns with a brand-new squad to serve up a fresh mix of friendship, love, and absolute chaos. The trailer of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna’s Cocktail 2 just dropped!

Cocktail 2 Trailer Out

After keeping fans hooked with a string of chartbuster tracks, Maddock Films and Luv Films have officially dropped the highly anticipated trailer for Cocktail 2. Directed by master director Homi Adajania, the sequel features the powerhouse trio of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna.

True to the legacy of its predecessor, the trailer of the upcoming entertainer promises an emotionally turbulent and hilariously messy take on modern-day romance.

Take a look at the trailer:

What works in the Cocktail 2 trailer

The trailer introduces us to the vibrant, contemporary lives of Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), Diya (Rashmika Mandanna), and Ally (Kriti Sanon). What starts as a breezy, fun-filled dynamic quickly spirals into a disaster as the three find themselves entangled in a complicated love triangle.

The chemistry between Shahid and Kriti, reuniting after their massive romantic-comedy success Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, is absolutely electric. The second the iconic track Tum Hi Ho Bandhu kicks into the background, the trailer instantly lights up.

What doesn't work in the Cocktail 2 trailer

The trailer delivers heavily on the Gen-Z vibe, eye-catching fashion, and high-energy music, and seems less grounded and emotionally rich than the 2012 original film.

The camaraderie and screen presence between Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna are significantly stronger than their individual equations with Shahid, who turns their world completely upside down.

The film beautifully explores the complicated areas of modern relationships, commitments, and what happens when the line between a best friend and a lover becomes blurred.

Cocktail 2 is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile releases of the year. Adding to the heavy nostalgia, the musical score is crafted by Pritam, who gave the original its iconic status.

Cocktail 2 is all set to take over the silver screens on June 19, 2026.
