Drishyam 3: Ajay Devgn, Tabu’s thriller wraps up shoot, to hit cinemas on October 2, 2026
Drishyam 3 is finally in the post-production stage, all set to hit cinemas later this year. The film is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film of the same name.
Ajay Devgn and Tabu are returning with yet another mind-boggling mystery and an anticipated instalment of the Drishyam franchise. In a massive development for cinephiles, Drishyam 3 has officially wrapped up a crucial leg of its shoot.
Drishyam 3 moves to post-production after film wrap
The exciting update comes straight from director Abhishek Pathak, who took to his social media handle to share that he has completed shooting the franchise film. Sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from the set, he confirmed the good news.
While talking to Pinkvilla earlier, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and filmmaker Abhishek Pathak confirmed that the shoot for Drishyam 3 is done.
They added, “We are currently working on some patchwork and will release it on October 2. There’s a lot of excitement around the film. What people are seeing right now in Malayalam Drishyam is different.”
Abhishek added, “For the Hindi audience, I have created a completely different track that will work beautifully here. The Malayalam version focuses more on family drama, while the Hindi version will lean more towards a family thriller. That’s the fabric of the film. When the trailer releases, audiences will see how different the two worlds are.”
Alongside the returning powerhouse cast of Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutt, and Rajat Kapoor, the third installment is joined by Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Originally helmed by director Jeethu Joseph in Malayalam cinema, Drishyam has grown into a massive franchise. The Hindi version, carried forward by Ajay Devgn as the cable operator-turned-cinema buff Vijay Salgaonkar, redefined suspense thrillers in Bollywood. The second part, released in 2022, was a historic box office blockbuster. Apart from Drishyam 3, Ajay also has Ranger and Golmaal 5 in the pipeline.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3 is written by him alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Produced by Abhishek, Kumar Mangat Pathak under Panorama Studios, and presented by Ajit Andhare and Alok Jain's Star Studio18, Drishyam 3 hits the theaters on October 2, 2026.
