Haiwaan release date announced
Giving an exciting update to fans about the awaited film Haiwaan, the makers unveiled its release date. Through their Instagram handle, they announced that master storyteller Priyadarshan’s movie is arriving on September 11, 2026.
Accompanying a captivating poster was a caption that read, “One obsession. One relentless pursuit. One date you’ll want to remember. #Haiwaan - A Priyadarshan Film starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. In cinemas 11th September 2026. Mark your calendars.”

What makes Haiwaan one of the most talked-about theatrical events of the year is its powerhouse combination. The film marks the massive on-screen reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after nearly 18 years. They last shared the frame in the 2008 action-comedy, Tashan.
Helming the project is the veteran master storyteller, Priyadarshan. Known for his incredible range of cinema, he is moving from his usual comedies to deliver a gritty, high-octane suspense thriller.
Beyond the iconic lead duo, Haiwaan boasts a phenomenal ensemble cast that features Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Kajol, Bobby Deol, Boman Irani, and Jisshu Sengupta. Adding to the excitement, Malayalam cinema icon Mohanlal is set to make a highly anticipated cameo appearance in the movie.
Confirming the same, the filmmaker exclusively told Pinkvilla, “If you’re asking me about Haiwaan, Mohanlal is there in that film. However, what character he plays, I don’t want to say right now. See, every time I make a movie, it is the story that excites me. I never think about actors.”
“First is always the script. Then the actor follows. I cannot say, ‘I am gonna make a film with Mohanlal and Akshay Kumar together.’ You can’t…like, you will never get a script then. Whenever you get a script, then go behind the right cast, that’s the right way of making films. I have never chased a star to make a film,” Priyadarshan added.
