To kick off the wedding festivities of Anshula Kapoor and Rohan Thakkar on an auspicious note, the families hosted a grand puja. The venue was adorned with beautiful floral arrangements and a central idol of Goddess Durga.

The spiritual evening seamlessly transitioned into a lively family reunion filled with music, laughter, and a full-attendance turnout from the Kapoor clan. The inside glimpses shared by Anshula, Khushi, Shanaya, and Maheep showcase how the day unfolded. While the family kept the main event private, their social media updates offered a beautiful look into the warmth of the evening.

The fashion at the Mata Ki Chowki leaned heavily toward timeless, rich Indian textiles. The bride-to-be wore a gold, heavily embroidered lehenga paired with a vibrant, handcrafted, multi-colored Phulkari dupatta. She styled it with a kundan and gold layered necklace, matching maangtika, jhumkas with ear chains, and a sleek bun. As for the groom, Rohan wore a red kurta-pyjama set with intricate embroidery.

The sister of the bride, Janhvi Kapoor, arrived in a timeless, bright pink silk saree paired with a contrasting blouse. Her little sister, The Archies actress Khushi Kapoor, channelled her chic avatar in a modern-traditional blush-pink short kurti paired with a matching gharara set.

Next up was Tu Yaa Main actress Shanaya Kapoor, who looked elegant in a pastel-hued, heavily embroidered anarkali suit.

Her mother, former actress and entrepreneur Maheep Kapoor, wore a regal, bright green ethnic suit perfectly suited for the festive shaadi kick-off.

The brother of the bride, actor Arjun Kapoor, donned a structured, multi-colored traditional kurta-pyjama set.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the function held profound emotional value for Anshula. She took to Instagram to reveal why her outfit was so close to her heart.

In her post, she penned, “Our wedding celebrations began with a Mata Ki Chowki lovingly hosted by Rohan’s family. Wearing a Phulkari dupatta felt especially meaningful for the occasion. Deeply rooted in Punjabi tradition, it is a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and blessings passed down through generations of women. For Punjabi brides, Phulkari has long been part of life’s most meaningful milestones, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting way to begin this new chapter with Ro.”

Anshula Kapoor's wedding rituals will take place next month on July 4, 5, and 6, while the reception will be held at Taj Lands End in Mumbai.
