Actress Kajol is known to steal the spotlight and fill the aura with her infectious laughter. While she might come across as a cool mom who would pull pranks with her kids, Yug and Nysa, she does face some challenges in raising her Gen Z daughter. While talking to Lilly Singh, the veteran Bollywood star, she had to work on her relationship with her eldest child.

Kajol admitted that she has a lot of talks with her daughter, Nysa Devgan. While talking to Singh on her podcast, the actress went back in time and revealed that back in the day, when Nysa was 12, they were all over the place, especially when it comes to their relationship.

She expressed, “We were fighting, and we were both irrational at times. We were both illogical at times.” This happened for nearly three years. But after some self-reflection, the DDLJ actress decided she should be a little more rational and not fight with her child this much. Over time, she tried to talk to Nysa and work with her. Today, the mother-daughter duo is in a space where they discuss a lot of things happening in their lives. Having said that, they had to work a lot to build this relationship. Eventually, it became long conversations.

She followed her comment by sharing the biggest learning she had as a parent while nurturing Nysa. The Maa actress expressed, “I realised that it was more about just me sitting down and listening to her. It was not about talking so much. It was just about giving her space to talk herself and to be heard. That made the biggest difference.”

Now, Nysa is 23 and shares a lovely bond with her mother. On her birthday, Kajol also expressed her love for her baby girl publicly by posting a heartfelt note for her. Sharing two pictures from the Durga Puja pandal, the mommy wrote, “I am so blessed. She was born, and the world changed. I thank God everyday for You my darling. U are perfect and all mine always. Happy happy birthday to u and me.”
