After being all over the internet, Karan Johar took to Instagram to explain why he unfollowed several stars.
Filmmaker Karan Johar recently became the center of online discussion after fans noticed a major change on his Instagram account. Social media users discovered that the filmmaker had unfollowed several close friends and industry colleagues, leading to widespread speculation across platforms.
Among the names no longer appearing on Karan’s following list were Shah Rukh Khan, Ananya Panday, Kartik Aaryan, and Manish Malhotra. Fans also observed that Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra were missing from the list. Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to remain among the few people Karan still follows. At present, the filmmaker follows only 78 accounts on Instagram.
Karan Johar calls it a “Digital Detox”

“It's a DIGITAL DETOX!!!! Am unfollowing everyone to reduce my time and energy spent on the gram!!!” Karan wrote. The filmmaker also requested people not to sensationalize the situation or turn it into a larger controversy. “This can't be national news for gods sake ...please clickbait something else! This is irrelevant,” he added.
