Kiara Advani breaks down as she opens up on postpartum after welcoming Sidharth Malhotra and her daughter Saraayah
Kiara Advani recently talked about her postpartum struggle after having her baby girl.
Actor Kiara Advani became emotional while speaking on a public platform for the first time about motherhood and her postpartum journey after welcoming her daughter with husband Sidharth Malhotra last year. Appearing on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Kiara reflected on how becoming a mother transformed her emotionally and mentally. During the conversation, the actor broke down in tears while discussing the emotional adjustments she experienced over the past several months.

Speaking about her postpartum struggle, Kiara said, “Nobody talks about postpartum, and it should be spoken about more. It (motherhood) is such an identity shift. It is such a new world, and in that moment, it is difficult for the woman going through it to give herself grace. It takes time. It has taken me six months. In the past six months, I have just told myself: Just give yourself grace.” She explained that adapting to motherhood required patience, emotional strength and self-awareness.
Kiara further revealed how motherhood helped her focus on herself in ways she never had before. “Because you are doing so much for everyone else that you forget about the relationship that you need to have with yourself. The things you need to tell yourself. For me, my whole life, I have been so other-centric that what's changed since my baby was born is that I finally found time to nurture that relationship that I need to have with myself. And it is probably the best thing that I have done for myself. After 34 years, I have learnt to set boundaries. I have learnt not to do critical conversations with myself, because sometimes you are over-critical about everything that you are doing. I have learnt not to focus on fear. I had to teach myself all of these things in these six months,” she shared.
Kiara and Sidharth welcomed a baby girl in 2025
In July 2025, Kiara and Sidharth announced the birth of their daughter through a joint Instagram post that read, “Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a baby girl. – Kiara & Sidharth.” Later, they revealed their daughter’s name as Saraayah Malhotra. Kiara and Sidharth married in Jaisalmer in 2023 after falling in love during the making of Shershaah.

Kiara will be seen in the upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film stars Yash, alongside Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Akshaye Oberoi. The film's release date is yet to be declared.
