Main Vaapas Aaunga is not just another historical movie on the 1947 Partition; it is a sensitive telling of how the trauma of displacement wounded people across generations, and how love can outlive the physical borders.

The narrative of the moving tale transitions between two timelines: present-day London/Delhi and the pre-Partition era of Punjab.

The story kicks off with Nirvair (Diljit Dosanjh), a struggling stand-up comedian based in London. When he learns that his 95-year-old grandfather, Ishar aka Keenu (Naseeruddin Shah), is on his deathbed back home, Nirvair rushes to his side.

Keenu is battling advanced dementia. While he struggles to recognize his own immediate family, his mind remains vividly anchored to a 78-year-old memory of a girl he left behind in Sargodha (now in Pakistan) during the chaotic migration of 1947. Through Keenu, the audience is transported back to pre-partition India.
