Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a global powerhouse. She has entered Hollywood in a way very few Indian actors have. From headlining shows like Quantico to anchoring mega-budget streaming franchises like Citadel, and sharing screens with Hollywood elite. Yet, the actor-producer admitted that her Western filmography is still behind in comparison to the massive legacy she left behind in India, in Bollywood.

Priyanka Chopra reflects on her Hollywood career vs Bollywood legacy

While speaking at the Cannes Lions conference, Priyanka Chopra Jonas said that in her Hindi-language career, she has worked with all the best filmmakers and the best actors.

“I’ve told amazing stories and done a variety of genres. Whereas in America, in Hollywood, in my English-language work, I haven’t really done that as much,” the diva opined.

Despite a fifteen-year tenure as an established superstar, Hollywood forced her to re-enter the market as a newbie. “It used to be such a niche when I first started,” she expressed.

Rather than regretting this disparity, Chopra is using it as the starting line for her next decade of work. Her next reinvention is “figuring out how, in (her) English-language work,” she can bring that “kind of variety to my characters that I have been able to do in India.”

Having said that, her priorities have undergone a drastic change since marrying Nick Jonas and welcoming her daughter, Malti Marie.

“Your priorities really change. I don’t just pack my bags and go off for a movie anymore. I don’t do five films a year. I don’t travel the way I used to. I’m really, really selective about the time I spend and who I spend it with… I’m navigating working-mom life. I have so much more respect for my mother now,” she added.

With upcoming high-profile ventures, including collaborations with major Hollywood directors and a highly anticipated return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is showing she is the queen.
