Ramayana: Kajal Aggarwal confirms limited role in Ranbir Kapoor, Yash film; ‘We’ve only filmed part one…’
Ramayana is the upcoming two-part epic movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in the lead roles, directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in the lead roles, is slated to be released as a two-part film series during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively. Now, Kajal Aggarwal has opened up about portraying Mandodari, confirming that her appearance in the first installment is limited.

Speaking to Zoom, Kajal Aggarwal said, "We've only filmed Part One and, of course, Lanka has a smaller presence in it, and I play Mandodari. So my role is naturally very limited. Regardless of that, it's been wonderful. It's been an amazing experience to be part of something on such a grand scale that has the potential to reach audiences across the world. It's a fantastic feeling, and I'm truly grateful to be part of something so close to our hearts."
Talking about sharing screen space with Yash, the actress added, "He's a wonderful actor. I've always admired his work, and it was amazing to work with him on this project. He's deeply invested in the film, which makes the experience even more exciting for all of us. He's extremely professional and immensely talented."

Produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of the classic Indian epic.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, alongside Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, and Adinath Kothare in key roles.
The two-part saga is scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively.
Kajal Aggarwal’s work front
Kajal Aggarwal will next be seen in the lead role in The India Story, a drama thriller slated for theatrical release on July 24, 2026. Directed by Chetan DK, the film also stars Shreyas Talpade in a prominent role.
The actress is also set to play a leading role in Nandamuri Balakrishna's NBK111, directed by Gopichandh Malineni.
