Salman Khan’s superhero film with Raj and DK to star Kareena Kapoor Khan? Here’s what we know
Salman Khan and filmmakers Raj & DK are all set to work together for a film revolving around a retired superhero.
Salman Khan has been making headlines amid reports suggesting that he will collaborate with director duo Raj and DK for a superhero film. While more details about the project are yet to be revealed, recent reports claimed that Kareena Kapoor Khan would play the female lead. However, it appears that the reality may be quite different.
Is Kareena Kapoor Khan starring alongside Salman Khan in the superhero film?
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Kareena Kapoor Khan has neither met Raj and DK nor Salman Khan regarding the film. The report further states that the script is still being written, and the makers are expected to begin the casting process only towards the end of June.
As of now, Salman Khan is reportedly the only actor confirmed for the project, and no discussions regarding the female lead have taken place. The report also suggests that the makers may opt for a younger actress, as the dynamic between Salman and the female lead is expected to differ from that of a conventional commercial entertainer. While the idea of casting Kareena Kapoor Khan was reportedly considered “a good one,” there is currently no truth to the speculation.
Although the project is said to be in development, no official updates have been shared so far. Raj and DK are reportedly working on the screenplay, with the story revolving around a retired superhero.
Once the script is completed, the makers are expected to present the final narration to Salman Khan by the first week of June 2026. The project is also reportedly being backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house currently backing the Prabhas-starrer Fauzi.
Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s work front
Salman Khan will next be seen in Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is inspired by the Galwan Valley clash and also stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead.
The actor is also set to appear in the tentatively titled SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, with Nayanthara playing the co-lead. As filming is currently underway, the film is reportedly expected to feature either Fahadh Faasil or Arvind Swamy as the main antagonist.
On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor Khan will next be seen in Daayra, a crime thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film will feature Prithviraj Sukumaran as the co-lead.
