In the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, few bonds are as deep as the one between choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan and the Shah Rukh Khan family. Decades after choreographing some of SRK's most iconic onscreen dance moves, Farah Khan has now worked with his son Aryan Khan, completing the circle!
Farah Khan on working with Aryan Khan in Ghafoor
Appearing on the latest episode of the popular talk show Shekhar Tonite, hosted by Shekhar Suman, Farah Khan opened up about a deeply sentimental event in her career. She happily spoke about choreographing for Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, in his highly anticipated directorial debut series, The Ba*ds of Bollywood.
During the candid conversation, Farah beamed with pride when discussing her work on Ghafoor, a high-octane special song featured in Aryan’s series.
Reflecting on her decades-long journey, she expressed, “I recently did Ghafoor with Tamannaah, and she loved it. I started with SRK, and now I’ve choreographed for Aryan’s directorial. I am very happy that the circle is completed.”
Farah Khan made her directorial debut with Shah Rukh Khan in Main Hoon Na, back in 2004, and has choreographed the superstar in iconic tracks like Chaiyya Chaiyya and Dard-e-Disco. Stepping onto the sets of Aryan Khan’s directorial project to lead the choreography felt less like work and more like a milestone.
The song Ghafoor, composed by Shashwat Sachdev and sung by Shilpa Rao and Ujwal Gupta, brings high-energy within the series. Led by Tamannaah Bhatia, the track also features veteran Bollywood stars Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover.
Farah, known for her larger-than-life musical staging, revealed that Tamannaah was absolutely thrilled with how the choreography turned out.
While his father rules in front of the camera, Aryan Khan has firmly chosen the director's chair. Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Ba*ds of Bollywood marks Aryan’s official entry into filmmaking. The satirical comedy-drama boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Mona Singh.
