Social media celebrated when Pinkvilla broke the reports of Vicky Kaushal being the front runner to play 4th Idiot in 3 Idiots sequel. Sonam Kapoor introduced her second son. On the other hand, in South, Trisha Krishnan visited Thalapathy Vijay's Chennai home. Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 trailer was released and Vijay Deverakonda celebrated his birthday with Rashmika Mandanna. Meanwhile, in the West, Hollywood woke up to the demise of the young British actor Jake Hall.

1. Sonam Kapoor introduces her second son
Sonam Kapoor has officially revealed her secondborn’s name to the world. In a new post shared on her Instagram account, the actress penned a long note about the source and meaning behind his name and dropped some never-before-seen glimpses at her happy family.
Here's what Sonam Kapoor has named her second son, “In the spirit of the divine force that has once again transformed our lives.
Born on the sacred day of Ekadashi, under Vishnu's grace, our second son feels like a sign, a karmic alignment, a divine pairing with his brother, and a blessing we deeply honour. With love and gratitude, we welcome Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja.”
Sharing the origin of the grandiose name of her kid and how she came to name him Rudra, the actress revealed a deep connection with her beliefs. “In the Vedas, Rudra, from the root rud, "to roar," is the mightiest of the mighty. The one who eradicates suffering at its source, the divine force behind storms, breath, healing, and renewal (sic).”
2. Vicky Kaushal front runner to play 4th Idiot in 3 Idiots sequel
Pinkvilla had earlier reported that 3 Idiots is in the making, and now we have exclusively learned that Vicky Kaushal is in advanced discussions to come on board in 4 Idiots, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest casting developments in recent times. According to our sources, the actor is being considered to play a key part, that of the ‘4th idiot’, joining the iconic trio of Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi.
Vicky, who has previously collaborated with Hirani on Sanju and Dunki, is said to have loved the script. Insiders suggest that his character will bring an emotional and fresh narrative with the original trio of Aamir Khan and others. “Kaushal is keen on sharing screen space with Aamir Khan and contributing to a franchise that enjoys immense recall value. Multiple meetings between Vicky, Aamir and Hirani have already taken place, and Vicky has verbally agreed to play the part of 4th Idiot," the source reveals.
3. Trisha visits Vijay's Chennai home
South queen Trisha Krishnan sent paparazzi in a frenzy when she was spotted arriving at Thalapathy Vijay’s Chennai house earlier this week. The actress was seen sitting inside her swanky white luxury car as she made her way to the superstar’s residence. Trisha Krishnan was spotted at Thalapathy Vijay’s house on her 43rd birthday.
Trisha entered Vijay’s home in her white vehicle. Without engaging with the paparazzi, the diva went straight inside the premises of the actor. Dressed in a pink and green traditional ensemble with minimal makeup, Trisha looked every bit the diva as she zoomed past the gates. While the visit was a private affair, the timing has set the industry abuzz.
4. Drishyam 3 trailer released
Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is slated to release on May 21, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s birthday. Ahead of the film’s theatrical release, the makers have unveiled the trailer, revisiting the mystery once again. The trailer of Drishyam 3 shows Mohanlal’s Georgekutty and his family returning to normalcy after the events of the second instalment. While the world appears to have accepted their innocence, certain people around them continue to remain suspicious about what happened.
As the mystery unfolds once again, Mohanlal reprises his role as Georgekutty, with Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil returning to their roles. Additionally, Veena Nandakumar joins the cast in a new role as a journalist determined to uncover the truth behind the case. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
5. Vijay Deverakonda celebrates birthday with Rashmika Mandanna
Vijay Deverakonda celebrated his 37th birthday on May 9, 2026 with his wife and actress Rashmika Mandanna. As fans, friends, and co-stars poured in wishes for the actor, taking to her social media handle, Rashmika Mandanna penned a heartfelt note wishing Vijay Deverakonda on his birthday. The post featured a series of pictures capturing moments from their day-long celebration.
Sharing the images, the actress wrote, “It’s my man’s birthday today and my day went like this….. In reverse tho…. Now we are headed to our friend’s place to celebrate, but before this we went to the gym and worked out, and before that I did some quick cardio while Vijju went out for a meeting and before that we went and met our boys and girls who’d come home to show Vijju lots of love and I also ended up getting lots of it as well and before that good mornings to paapalu dad and Shimmu happened who is here for Vijju’s birthday and thus it was a perfect day!”
The actress further shared that she loved those days when a shoot schedule would get cancelled unexpectedly, giving them a chance to celebrate together. She concluded the note by writing, “Happiest birthday to you my Viiijjjjjuuuuu.”
6. TOWIE Star Jake Hall Passes Away at 35
An evening of partying turned into a nightmare for The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall. As per the first reports the star was found unconscious at a rented villa in Spain and was then declared dead on May 7 local time. The reality star was found by authorities who responded to a call on May 6 at around 7:30 am in the morning.
As per the report, the following update was received, “Witnesses told investigators he had been out partying all night and decided to carry on the party back at the place he was renting. It appears from what police have been told that he became agitated, possibly from alcohol he may have consumed.”
Four men and two women were also said to be staying at the same villa with the fashion entrepreneur. He is survived by his daughter, River, born in November 2017, who he shared with Misse Begiri, who he has been involved with since 2016.
