Salman retracts controversial tweets about Yakub Memon; apologizes

Salman Khan has retracted his controversial tweets about Yakub Memon, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

Salman had tweeted about how he believed that instead of Yakub, his brother and the main accused in the case, Tiger Memon who is absconding, should be hanged and also that "1 innocent man killed is killing the humanity".

However after widespread criticism of his tweets by many including his own father, writer Salim Khan, the actor has now retracted his earlier tweets via a bunch of a new tweets in which he seeks to clarify that he had not said or implied that Yakub Memon is innocent and that he has complete faith in the judiciary of the country -

The actor also made it clear that what he meant by his tweets was that Tiger Memon should be hanged and that Yakub Memon should not be hanged in place of him -

Salman also tweeted about how he had a talk with his father who told him that his earlier tweets must be retracted -

Salman closed this series of tweets by strongly condemning those who claimed his tweets to be anti-religious and stated that he always respected all faiths -
