The Australian Cricket Team were restricted to a par score of 307 against Pakistan in the World Cup 2019 game on Wednesday. After dominating the innings initially, the duo of Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Afridi produced breakthroughs at intervals and ripped apart the Australian middle order just when it seemed like the Aussies will get past 350.

The duo of Aaron Finch and David Warner got together to score 146 for the first wicket, and set up the platform for the other batters to take the total beyond the reach of the Pakistanis. However, Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell failed to capiatlize, scoring 10 and 20, respectively as Australia  slumped to 223 for 3. However, Warner carried on at the other end and got his hundred, but just when it seemed like Australia will bury Pakistan, the fast bowlers from the Men in Green rose to the occasion.

Sending Maxwell in at number 4 ahead of Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja disturbed things as well, and the innings struggled to find momentum once they were sent back. Alex Carey did not get any support as Amir ripped through the batting attack to finish with 5 wickets.
