Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been struggling in this World Cup with only one win in their three games thus far. However, Lankans have one point extra after their last game was washed out due to rain against Pakistan.

Bangladesh, however, have shown their fighting spirit and have impressed against higher ranked teams like South Africa, New Zealand and England. They won the first game against the Proteas, but were unable to close out the other two matches. They ran New Zealand close and were in the game till the end against England as well.

One player who has been leading the charts has been Shakib Al Hasan. The all-rounder has 260 runs in the event so far, and has also picked important wickets in the middle overs. Bowlers like Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have not disappointed as well, faring well against higher ranked teams. They will, then, be fancying their chances against an inconsistent Sri Lankan batting order.

Except for Kusal Perera and Dimuth Karunaratne, no player from the side has stood up and performed. Nuwan Pradeep - who picked 4 wickets against Afghanistan - has been ruled out, and his injury could hamper their chances. Though they have experienced campaigners like Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera and Lasith Malinga, they have been unable to get together and play as a unit. The Sri Lankas look out of sorts, while the Bangladeshis have a more settled bowling and batting line-ups.

Hence, the Tigers are the favourites.
