A week after Sanjay Manjrekar called Ravindra Jadeja a "bits and pieces" cricketer, the all-rounder silenced him with a fine showing in the first semi-final of the World Cup 2019 between India and New Zealand.

After picking a wicket with the ball and leaving a mark with his fielding as well - he latched on to a spectacular catch before sending back Ross Taylor with a direct hit - Jadeja returned with the bat to ignite hopes in the Indian camp. Team India had been reduced to 92 for 6 when he walked out, and hopes of a win looked bleak. However, he stuck around and his 77 runs came in only 59 deliveries, as he and MS Dhoni stitched a 116-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

Jadeja looked pumped in his innings, and seemed to be on the lookout for Manjrekar after a couple of sixes. His trademark 'talwar' celebrations were in full display as well afer he got to his 50, but unfortunately his efforts were not enough as the team failed to cross the line.

However, Twitteratis were unified in applauding his efforts, and very soon 'bitsnpieces' was trending on social media.
