Bhooth Bangla Box Office: Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan's reunion film holds well on 5th Monday, nears Rs 160 crore mark
Bhooth Bangla is heading to close its entire theatrical run around Rs. 165 crore nett at the Indian box office, with some possibilities of even overtaking Housefull 5.
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan's reunion film, Bhooth Bangla, maintained a good hold at the box office, even in its 5th week. The movie collected Rs. 55 lakh on its 5th Monday, registering a 15 per cent dip from the 5th Friday. The movie made a sum of Rs. 4.10 crore in the first four days of the 5th week. It is looking to wind up this week at Rs. 5 crore or so.
Currently standing at Rs. 158.80 crore, the movie will surpass Rs. 160 crore by the end of this week, and then it will march towards its lifetime target. Bhooth Bangla is looking to wind up its entire theatrical run around the Rs. 165 crore nett mark, with a possibility of even overtaking Housefull 5's total cume (Rs. 168 crore); however, that won't be easy.
Akshay Kumar saw a rough patch at the box office post-pandemic. However, the actor is getting back on track with good films, delivering both on the content and at the box office. That said, Bhooth Bangla emerged as his Clean HIT venture after the 2023 movie OMG 2.
The industry tends to have a good time when Akshay Kumar delivers hits. He makes sure to do two or three HITs or successful films a year; it is equally important, as that keeps the box office ticking. This is something where Akshay Kumar stands out, as others in the industry, except Ajay Devgn, have significantly lower output, with some of them taking two or three years for one film instead. The box office in India is star-driven; it cannot be in good shape if leading stars are not bringing films regularly.
