Bhooth Bangla Box Office: Akshay Kumar's horror comedy adds Rs 1 crore on 4th Wednesday, collects Rs 153 crore in 27 days
Akshay Kumar's horror comedy drama, Bhooth Bangla, maintained a good hold at the box office. The movie is looking to cross the Rs. 155 crore mark by the end of this week.
Bhooth Bangla added Rs. 1 crore to the tally on its 4th Wednesday, registering a 10 per cent drop from Monday. The 4th week's cume reached Rs. 11.45 crore in 6 days. It is looking to close this week, around Rs. 12.50 crore, which will take its running cume to Rs. 154.45 crore.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror comedy will cross the Rs. 160 crore nett mark in its fifth week, and then it will march towards its lifetime target, which is expected to be around the Rs. 165 crore nett mark.
Akshay Kumar has gone through a rough phase at the box office post-pandemic, with a string of underperformers. Last year was somewhat better with three films doing decently well, although they weren’t a HIT, and now there is finally a HIT film as well.
The industry tends to have a good time when Akshay Kumar delivers hits. He makes sure to do two or three HITs or successful films a year; it is equally important, as that keeps the box office ticking. This is something where Akshay Kumar stands out, as others in the industry, except Ajay Devgn, have significantly lower output, with some of them taking two or three years for one film instead. The box office in India is star-driven; it cannot be in good shape if leading stars are not bringing films regularly.
