Punjabi film Carry on Jatta 4 grossed Rs. 75 lakh on its Day 7 (Thursday), dropping by 15 per cent on already low Wednesday. This took its first week's cume to Rs. 14.50 crore gross at the Indian box office. The Gippy Grewal movie performed well overall, but the drops on Wednesday and Thursday were very significant, which might limit its box office potential.

Earlier, the movie was expected to have a full run of Rs. 30 crore, but now it seems it will lag behind and might close its entire run around the Rs. 25 crore mark. If the movie didn't perform on the expected lines in the second week, it might even end its full run under Rs. 25 crore, which will be less than half of what Carry on Jatta 3 did.

Sequels, in general, seem to be falling out of fashion, or at least are no longer the surefire bets they appeared to be just a couple of years ago. Recent ones like Bambukat 2, Nikka Zaildar 4, Godday Godday Chaa 2, and others underperformed badly, while even Saunkan Saunkanay 2 could not quite live up to expectations. In that context, Carry on Jatta 4 has fared better.
