Chand Mera Dil, directed by Vivek Soni and starring Lakshya and Ananya Panday, is about to release in cinemas this weekend. The advance booking was opened today, and the initial reports are showing pretty good signs.
As of 11:45 PM, May 19 (Tuesday), the romantic drama sold around 3500 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day. That’s a positive start. Interestingly, the movie has better momentum than Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakulpreet Singh’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. With two days more in hand, Chand Mera Dil is looking to wind up its advance booking around 25,000 tickets.
The pricing is one big factor which is driving the sales. For the unversed, the makers of Chand Mera Dil have introduced affordable ticket prices for its opening day. The tickets for all shows before 5 PM on Friday (May 22, 2026) are priced at just Rs. 149, while shows after 5 PM are priced at Rs. 199.
This could be the right strategy to draw the audience to the screen for a relatively small-budget film. Based on the current trends and advance sales, the movie has a good chance of opening with Rs. 4 crore or so. It will be a commendable start for the cast and cost involved. The fate of Chand Mera Dil will depend on its word-of-mouth. If reports land in favour, the start sets it up well to potentially be a success.
