Chand Mera Dil Box Office Day 11: Lakshya and Ananya Panday-led romantic drama collects Rs 90 lakh on 2nd Monday, nears Rs 25 crore mark
Chand Mera Dil, directed by Vivek Soni, witnessed a 55 per cent drop on its second Monday compared to its first Monday. The romantic drama is expected to surpass the Rs. 25 crore mark by the end of its second Tuesday.
Chand Mera Dil collected Rs. 90 lakh on its second Monday, registering a 25-27 per cent drop from Friday. The movie recorded a 55 per cent dip from the previous Monday. The running cume of Chand Mera Dil now stands at Rs. 24.10 crore nett at the Indian box office.
Directed by Vivek Soni, the romantic drama is expected to wind up its second week around Rs. 27-28 crore, after which it will have to face a couple of new releases, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Bandar, and Peddi, from the coming weekend. The new releases will definitely have an impact on their box office run. It will be interesting to see whether the Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer can show some strong legs in the third and fourth weeks.
Based on current trends, Chand Mera Dil is looking to wrap up its entire box office run around Rs. 35 crore or so. That's a reasonable total for the cast involved, but it still won't change its fate at the box office. The 'rom-com' space itself is suffering in the post-2020 era, with only a handful of romantic dramas able to break through and emerge as big Hits.
