Chand Mera Dil Box Office: Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer records muted growth on Day 2, nets Rs 6 crore in two days
Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer Chand Mera Dil, directed by Vivek Soni, recorded a nominal spike on its second day after opening on a low note. The movie is looking to wind up its first weekend at Rs. 10 crore.
Chand Mera Dil collected Rs. 3.50 crore on its Day 2, registering a 25-30 per cent jump from the opening day. The movie is expected to wind up its opening weekend around the Rs. 10 crore mark.
Based on the current trends, the movie is looking to wind up its full run around Rs. 25-30 crore or so. The film belongs to the “pain in love story” space, a genre that delivered a few surprise successes last year, including the blockbuster Saiyaara. What worked for those films was their superhit music. While the music here is also good, it hasn’t hit the mark. Without music working, it's tough for mid-budget films out there, as the theatrical base has significantly eroded in the post-pandemic times relative to pre-pandemic highs of 2018-19.
