Cocktail 2 Box Office Collections: Shahid Kapoor starrer wraps first week at Rs. 64 crore, set to face Welcome To The Jungle
Shahid Kapoor's newly released romantic drama, Cocktail 2, should aim for a good hold against Welcome To The Jungle in its second week.
Cocktail 2 collected Rs. 3.50 crore on its Day 7 (Thursday), registering a 20 per cent drop from the previous day. This took its first week's cume to Rs. 64 crore nett at the Indian box office. On face value, it's a good total, but this includes external push, which is why its numbers (not collections) should be taken with an asterisk. If there were no support from outside factors, the real collections would have been much lower but honest.
The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starrer will face Welcome To The Jungle from the second weekend onwards, which will slow down its momentum at the box office. The movie is expected to cross the Rs. 75 crore mark, possibly by the end of its second weekend. It is to be seen whether the movie can touch the Rs. 100 crore nett mark, even with an external push.
The original film was released in 2012, and it collected around Rs. 74.50 crore nett and emerged as a Clean Hit venture. Though the sequel will cross this figure, it will end up much lower if the OG collections are adjusted for inflation.
Day-wise Box Office Collections of Cocktail 2 are as follows:
| Day | Box office |
| Day 1 | Rs. 12.75 cr. |
| Day 2 | Rs. 15.50 cr. |
| Day 3 | Rs. 16.25 cr. |
| Day 4 | Rs. 5.75 cr. |
| Day 5 | Rs. 5.75 cr. |
| Day 6 | Rs. 4.50 cr. |
| Day 7 | Rs. 3.50 cr. |
| Total | Rs. 64.00 cr. |
