Cocktail 2 Box Office: Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer registers 60 per cent drop on 2nd Monday
The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer romantic drama, Cocktail 2, is looking to wind up its entire run around Rs. 85 to 90 crore nett.
Cocktail 2 collected Rs. 1.35 crore on its second Monday, registering a nearly 60 per cent drop from the previous Friday. The week-on-week drop is about 75 per cent. The 4-day second week's cume reached Rs. 12.60 crore, taking the overall running cume to Rs. 76.60 crore nett at the Indian box office.
The Shahid Kapoor starrer is looking to close this week around Rs. 15 crore, which will make it surpass the Rs. 80 crore nett mark. Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic drama is expected to wind up its entire box office run around the Rs. 85-90 crore nett mark, which is a good total, but one must note that these numbers (not collections) should be taken with an asterisk as it involves external push.
Co-starring Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie will end up being a flop even after outside factors aid its theatrical run. For the unversed, the original film was released in 2012, and it collected around Rs. 74.50 crore nett and emerged as a Clean Hit venture. Though the sequel has crossed this figure on the face value, it will end up much lower if the OG collections are adjusted for inflation.
