Drishyam 3 Final Worldwide Advance Booking: Mohanlal's crime thriller closes global pre-sales at Rs 33 crore for Day 1, eyes BANGER opening
Drishyam 3 is looking to take the second best opening of all time for a Malayalam film. The Mohanlal starrer smashed a banger pre-sales of Rs. 33 crore at the global box office.
Drishyam 3 recorded phenomenal advance sales at the worldwide box office. The much-awaited crime thriller closed its pre-sales at Rs. 33 crore or so globally, for the opening day. That's the second-best advance booking for a Malayalam film ever. The movie remained only behind L2 Empuraan's pre-sales.
Coming to Kerala pre-sales, the Mohanlal starrer stormed over Rs. 8.20 crore of advances in total. That's again the second-best sales for a Malayalam movie in Kerala, and the third-best of all-India movies are taken into account. The family crime thriller, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is expected to smash a double-digit opening in its home state.
On the worldwide front, the movie has very good chances of hitting Rs. 50 crore gross opening, if the movie manages to gain a positive reception among the audience. That said, the movie will smash the second-best opening of all time for a Malayalam film.
Drishyam 3 is one of the biggest bets of Malayalam cinema this year. It is the most loved franchise of the Kerala film industry and holds a separate fan base among the audience. Thus, the movie has huge potential to challenge the top grossers- Vaazha 2, Lokah Chapter One- Chandra, Thudarum, and others.
About Drishyam 3
As the mystery unfolds once again, Mohanlal reprises his role as Georgekutty, with Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil returning to their roles. Additionally, Veena Nandakumar joins the cast in a new role as a journalist determined to uncover the truth behind the case.
Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. The film’s music and background score are composed by Anil Johnson, while Satheesh Kurup and Vinayak VS handle cinematography and editing, respectively. The movie is slated to hit the big screens on May 21, 2026, in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.
