Drishyam 3 Kerala Box Office Collections Extended Opening Week: Mohanlal's film smashes Rs 62 crore in just 8 days, eyes BIG spike ahead
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3, recorded another banger single-day collection at the Kerala box office on Day 8. The movie took its first week's cume to Rs. 62 crore mark.
Drishyam 3 smashed a banger opening weekend at the Kerala box office. The movie witnessed a superb run, despite receiving a mixed reception among the audience, proving the cult fanbase of the franchise and Lalettan. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Malayalam family crime thriller collected Rs. 62 crore gross in its extended opening week of 8 days, with Rs. 5.70 crore coming from Thursday.
The Mohanlal starrer recorded the second biggest opening week (8 days) of all time for a Malayalam film in its home turf, trailing only behind L2 Empuraan's Rs. 70.50 crore first week.
Drishyam 3 is expected to perform better than Empuraan since the movie has slightly better word-of-mouth, and there is no significant new release this weekend, which could dent its business. There is Kattalan, but it won't have any impact on Drishyam 3. Based on current trends, the movie will end its second weekend around Rs. 75-80 crore gross in Kerala, and then it will march towards the Rs. 100 crore gross mark.
