Drishyam 3 Kerala Box Office Collections: Mohanlal flexes superstardom, records 2nd BIGGEST opening weekend with Rs 38 crore
Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in his iconic role of Georgekutty, is all set to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark, possibly by Tuesday. The Jeethu Joseph directorial is heading to emerge as a monstrous Hit.
Drishyam 3 recorded the second biggest opening weekend of all time for a Malayalam film at the Kerala box office. The family crime thriller, directed by Jeethu Joseph, closed its 4-day opening weekend at smashing Rs. 38.60 crore gross in its home state. It collected Rs. 9.60 crore on its Day 4 (Sunday).
The Mohanlal starrer remained only behind his own film, L2 Empuraan's opening weekend by a small margin. For the record, Empuraan had a weekend of Rs. 42.50 crore in Kerala. Drishyam 3 has impressive sales for its first Monday, which suggests another strong day at the box office. The movie is expected to perform well on weekdays, despite mixed word-of-mouth, which proves how the audience is in awe of Georgekutty and his family.
Drishyam 3 is expected to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark, possibly by Tuesday. It has a strong chance of entering the Rs. 100 crore club, too, in its full run, and challenging the top grossers. For the unversed, the original film was an Industry Hit, while the second instalment missed the theatrical release due to lockdown. However, the latest instalment is there to fill all the void for its cult fanbase.
