Drishyam 3 Worldwide Box Office: Mohanlal starrer storms MASSIVE Rs 142 crore globally in opening weekend

Drishyam 3 continues to wreak havoc at the box office. The Mohanlal starrer recorded a phenomenal opening weekend, making a massive sum of Rs. 142 crore gross at the global box office. With this sort of impressive run, the crime thriller recorded the second biggest opening weekend of all time for a Malayalam film. It remained only behind L2: Empuraan, which had collected around Rs. 175.60 crore in its first weekend worldwide.
Coming to Drishyam 3's territorial breakdown, the movie smashed over Rs. 38.60 crore in Kerala alone, which is superb. The Jeethu Joseph directorial further collected Rs. 9.20 crore from Karnataka, followed by Rs. 6.60 crore from the Telugu states and Rs. 4.80 crore from Tamil Nadu in its first three days of theatrical run. The rest of the Indian markets, including the Hindi region, contributed nearly Rs. 4.50 crore in total.
The third instalment of the much-loved franchise is all set to enter the Rs. 200 crore club at the worldwide box office. It will be interesting to see how far it can go from there on. For the unversed, the original film was an Industry Hit, while the second instalment missed the theatrical release due to lockdown. However, the latest instalment is there to fill all the void for its cult fanbase.
